# What changed, version by version

Voxis updates itself through the Microsoft Store, so a new version can arrive without you noticing. This is the full record — the same notes the app shows you after an update.

## Version 1.0.87

- Fixed hearing the same sentence twice. When the engine was slow to voice a sentence rather than actually silent, Voxis read it aloud with its offline voice and then played the engine's own audio for it as well. The offline voice now steps in only for the engine that really does go quiet.
- If Voxis ever closes unexpectedly, it now records what happened and which version it happened on, so those can be found and fixed instead of guessed at.
- When another app or a Windows setting is sending sound into the virtual cable Voxis uses for your voice, Voxis can't hear your call. It now says exactly that, names what to change, and gives you a button to check again once you've fixed it — instead of one line that scrolls away mid-meeting.

## Version 1.0.86

- When Voxis can hear your computer but finds no speech in it — hold music, a silent game menu, a muted stream — it now tells you after 30 seconds instead of staying on "connected" with nothing to show. Video mode only; minutes are counted exactly as before.
- Free plan: on a day whose free minutes are already spent, choosing a language the trial voice cannot speak now brings up the daily card, with when your minutes come back, before the session starts — instead of a "quota used up" error meant for paid plans.

## Version 1.0.85

- The offline voice that reads the subtitles aloud when the engine goes quiet could not be downloaded on some PCs — either Windows was missing a root certificate, or your Documents folder lives on a different drive. Both are fixed, and when certificates are the cause the app now tells you to run Windows Update instead of retrying in silence.
- Meeting mode: the two language pickers now say exactly what they do — "I hear in" and "They hear in" — with a note that the spoken language is detected automatically. Speak whatever language you like: the other side hears theirs, you hear yours.
- Free plan: the note under a locked language now says the one-time Pro taste is what locks it, instead of calling the language paid-only.

## Version 1.0.84

- The offline voice that reads the subtitles aloud when the translation engine goes quiet now actually starts. It was announced in the last update but never ran — so if you sat through a silent stretch and heard nothing, that was why.
- And because it runs, so does the rest of that promise: your minutes are not counted while that voice is carrying the session.
- Free plan: while your one-time Pro taste is running, languages the trial voice cannot speak are no longer locked for videos. The free engine reads some of them aloud; the rest run subtitles-only — either way the Pro taste is not spent and stays for a language that can use it. In Meeting those languages stay locked.
- Team plans: when your team's shared minutes run out, Voxis now says so and points you to your team admin instead of offering a purchase.

## Version 1.0.83

- When the translation engine stops speaking while the subtitles keep coming, Voxis now reads them aloud itself with its offline voice, so you are not left in silence. It tells you it has switched and why, and switches back the moment the engine returns.
- Your minutes are not counted while that offline voice is carrying the session. The engine going quiet is our problem, not something you should pay for.
- A session that ends because the engine went quiet now says so, instead of blaming your connection, and the sound check no longer reports a working microphone when it had quietly fallen back to a different one.

## Version 1.0.82

- A session where the engine stops answering now recovers or ends within about a minute instead of running on in silence — and minutes are no longer counted while nothing is coming back.
- On the free plan, the higher-quality offline voice downloads again on new installs, and Japanese is read properly instead of being spelled out character by character.
- The status badge no longer wraps in a narrow window: the mode is now shown by the colour of its dot — amber for Video & Game, blue for Meeting.
- The email consent prompt now says exactly what we send, and that your address is never sold or shared.

## Version 1.0.81

- A new main window: pick the scenario first — Video & Game or Meeting — and the panel shows only what that scenario needs, with one Start button, short hints with the detail behind (i), a theme switch and a calmer look. Devices moved to a new Settings › Audio tab.
- Video & Game can now listen to a microphone, line-in or audio interface instead of the system audio — a mixer, a USB interface or a radio feeding the PC. Switch the source on the panel.
- Transcripts are saved every two minutes while a session runs, so a crash in a long session no longer loses them. The quick tour is five short steps and reopens from Settings › General.
- Meetings: a status line now says when neither side has been heard for 30 seconds, so a wrong device is caught early.
- Fixes: the sound test now remembers when only the backup capture path can hear and starts the next session on it; on the free plan both language pickers show the same Pro-only lock during the Pro taste.

## Version 1.0.80

- Fast mode: a new switch on the Translation card shows captions right away and lets the translated voice catch up at up to 1.5× speed. Off by default — try it if you like to read ahead.
- Paid plans: Pro source text. A second recognition line runs alongside the translation, so the source line under captions and in transcripts is complete and lines up with what was actually said.
- Free plan: very quiet videos are now translated instead of being skipped, and the daily-minutes chip explains that free translation arrives sentence by sentence while Pro is simultaneous.
- Meetings: Voxis tells you when the other side can't be heard while the translated voice plays on your machine, and AI summaries now come as sections — decisions, action items with owners, open questions.
- Reliability: Voxis carries its own certificate trust store, so a Windows install missing recent root certificates connects again; machines whose system-audio capture keeps going deaf stay on the working path longer; a translation that goes quiet no longer keeps the other side muted on the backup capture path; term lists grow from 50 to 200 entries.

## Version 1.0.79

- Meeting prep: type your name and the other person's name on the main window, and they come through the translation as written. A tip line reminds you that one-word replies are easy to mistranslate; two words are safe.
- At the start of a meeting, Voxis now tells you when the call is playing through your speakers, so you can switch to headphones before the other side hears their own words coming back.
- Reconnections are gentler: a planned refresh waits for a pause in the conversation, and when the translation service turns a connection away, Voxis switches to a backup route in a second instead of retrying the same one for half a minute.
- Opening Settings no longer fails with a device error while the device lists are refreshing, and a sign-in that cannot open your browser says so at once instead of waiting five minutes.

## Version 1.0.78

- In a meeting, a short reply followed by a pause no longer makes Voxis reconnect and swallow the start of your next answer. The other side now hears all of it.
- If the translation engine is slow to connect, the message says so instead of blaming your internet connection.
- Clicking Start again while Voxis is still connecting no longer restarts the session from scratch.
- The free voice no longer invents words over music or a sentence cut mid-way; it waits for the sentence to end.

## Version 1.0.77

- Headphone and microphone lists refresh when you open them — plug in a headset mid-session and it shows up without restarting Voxis.
- Fixed: a problem report sent after stopping a session went out without the transcript, even with the box ticked. It now carries the session you just stopped.
- Progress messages, such as the free voice download, now update on a single line instead of stacking up in the captions.
- Google sign-in can be cancelled while it waits for the browser, and Enter submits the email form.
- The live indicator shows how long the session has been running, device and profile names follow the interface language, and the window uses less CPU while hidden.

## Version 1.0.76

- Fixed: by default Voxis was giving the speech recognizer a built-in list of technology brand names. In a conversation that had nothing to do with those brands, one of the names could still land in your translation — a business call coming back with "Stripe" in a sentence that never contained it. That list is now off by default, and Voxis asks you once whether you want it — you can also change it anytime in Settings › Translation.
- Names on the list that are also ordinary words in English, Spanish or Italian have been removed, so it is safe to switch on when you need it. Terms you typed in yourself are unchanged.

## Version 1.0.75

- Fixed: when Windows wasn't passing your PC's sound to Voxis, Meeting and Video mode could stay silent. Voxis now remembers which capture method works on that PC and uses it from the start of the next session, instead of rediscovering the problem every time.
- The sound check no longer sits on "waiting for a signal" when the standard capture method can't hear your PC — it now finds the audio another way and the meter moves.
- Sessions that went quiet part-way now recover on their own: subtitles arriving with no voice, and free-plan sessions that connected but never started translating. If the translated voice stops reaching your speakers, Voxis says so instead of going silent.
- Free plan: the Portuguese and Nepali voices could never finish downloading and stayed silent — fixed. Voice downloads now show progress, and your free minutes aren't spent while one is downloading.

## Version 1.0.74

- Fixed: on PCs with Voicemeeter or a similar virtual audio mixer, Video mode could fail to start at all. Voxis now switches to the standard capture method automatically and tells you what happened instead of showing a generic error.
- If Windows privacy settings are blocking microphone access, the sound check and Meeting mode now say so and point at the exact setting to change.
- The language pickers show their country flags on Windows, upgrade links open in your own language, and the free plan's screens state its price up front.
- Groundwork for the upcoming Linux version (correct language on first run, startup fixes) — nothing changes on Windows.

## Version 1.0.73

- Fixed: on PCs with a virtual audio cable installed (VB-Audio Cable, VoiceMeeter), Video mode could run without any translated voice. Voxis now detects this within seconds and switches to a working capture method automatically — your original audio and the translation both come back mid-session.
- First launch now translates into your own language: the target language follows your Windows display language instead of a fixed default. If you had already chosen a language yourself, your choice is kept.

## Version 1.0.72

- In Meeting mode, the automatic recovery for silent audio now finds the call on whichever device it is actually playing — even while your own translated voice is audible — and Voxis warns you when another app's speaker is wired to the virtual cable by mistake.
- Bring your own key: Alibaba Cloud (Model Studio) keys now connect reliably — paste the key or the credential file downloaded at key creation; a refused key or workspace shows a clear message instead of retrying forever.
- After a session, Voxis asks once whether you'd like product news — opting in adds 5 bonus minutes to your account.
- Fixed the sign-in screen's e-mail field showing an internal code instead of its hint text.

## Version 1.0.71

- The translated voice no longer goes silent for the rest of a session while subtitles keep running — Voxis reconnects on its own, and switches engine if that is not enough.
- Meeting no longer drops to one-way listening when the microphone you selected has been unplugged or renamed.
- Sessions that refused to start because playback was pointed at a virtual audio cable now switch to your real speakers or headphones automatically.
- Video and Game now get the same automatic recovery for silent system audio that Meeting had, and Voxis names what to change when the sound cannot be captured at all.

## Version 1.0.70

- Meeting: improved the diagnostics Voxis records when it automatically recovers audio on a call, so the remaining capture problems can be pinpointed and fixed faster.

## Version 1.0.69

- Meeting: fixed a case where automatic audio recovery could latch onto Voxis's own outgoing voice and translate it back, adding an echo-like extra voice to the call.
- Meeting: automatic recovery could open the wrong playback device when Windows reports the same device under two slightly different names, and then wrongly conclude your call was silent.
- Meeting: when Windows itself reports that the call is quiet, Voxis no longer second-guesses it moments later and switches capture anyway.

## Version 1.0.68

- Meeting: if another app has taken exclusive control of your audio device, Voxis now explains what is wrong and how to fix it, instead of going quiet with no reason given.
- Meeting: automatic recovery for incoming audio now also runs while "Listen to my translation" is on, and checks the device the sound is really playing on — not just your selected output.
- A single notification sound can no longer make Voxis switch its capture method mid-call; it now waits for continuous sound, so a call that is already working is left alone.

## Version 1.0.67

- Meeting: automatic recovery for incoming call audio now engages in cases where it previously stayed switched off — a barely audible background signal was enough to disable it for the entire session, leaving Voxis silent even while you could hear the other person on your speakers.
- Problem reports now record incoming and microphone levels finely enough to tell a completely silent audio path apart from a very faint one.

## Version 1.0.66

- Meeting: when a virtual audio cable is installed but the outgoing direction still cannot start, Voxis no longer reports a missing cable — it says the outgoing direction failed to start and points you to “Report a problem”.
- Problem reports now capture far more about audio faults — including translated speech that stops part-way through a session, and whether your microphone was actually heard — so a single report is enough to diagnose them.

## Version 1.0.65

- Meeting: if Windows privacy settings are blocking the microphone, Voxis now says so and points to the exact setting to turn on — instead of reporting a missing virtual cable.
- Meeting: fixed the default microphone not switching to the virtual cable automatically when a meeting starts.
- BYOK: the key field now accepts a Gemini or a Qwen key (detected automatically — languages Qwen can speak run on Qwen), the minutes bar is hidden on own-key accounts, and starting without a saved key opens Settings at the key field.

## Version 1.0.64

- Meeting: if the call's audio isn't reaching Voxis (you hear the other person, but nothing gets translated), Voxis now detects it within seconds and switches to a backup capture method automatically.
- Meeting: if no sound arrives at all, a clear notice now tells you — instead of the app staying silent.

## Version 1.0.63

- Added better crash diagnostics, so a rare silent shutdown can be caught and fixed faster.

## Version 1.0.62

- Fixed a rare case where a translation-engine hiccup could still count against your minutes even though no translation was coming through.

- You can now hear the translation in a voice close to the original speaker's own — turn on "Dubbing Voice" in Settings › Translation.
- History got three new tools: star sessions to keep them from being cleaned up automatically, edit the saved text (exports pick up your fix), and generate a short AI summary of any session (paid plans).
- A new button lets you skip the sentence currently playing without stopping the whole session.
- Invite a friend from Settings › Membership — you both earn free minutes when they join.
- The Terms list in Settings › Translation can now be imported straight from a text file.

- The language picker now shows upfront which languages need a paid plan, instead of letting you pick one on the free tier and finding out later that it doesn't work.
- Free sessions no longer switch to the paid engine under any circumstance, including an outage — they either translate normally or end the session cleanly. Paid plans are unaffected and still switch to a backup engine when needed.

- Fixed a rare case where a long or busy session would disconnect and reconnect on its own even though the connection was healthy — a background check was giving up too early while a lot of speech was still being processed.

- When the translation service briefly runs out of capacity, Voxis now tries a backup connection right away instead of repeatedly retrying the one that's already overloaded — fewer full switches to the alternate engine during short outages.
- Fixed a volume ceiling on some VB-CABLE setups: if your speakers or headphones' own volume was below 100%, Voxis's volume control could get stuck there with no way to turn it up further. It now raises the device to full for the session and restores your setting afterward.

- When the translation engine repeatedly fails to answer, Voxis now switches to a backup engine automatically instead of endlessly retrying a connection that was never coming back.
- Paid plans switch to the backup engine at the very first sign of trouble, so a brief outage barely interrupts your session — free sessions still retry a few times first, since most hiccups clear up on their own.

- Voxis now speaks up when it can't hear anything: if no sound is reaching it, it says so within seconds instead of leaving you in front of a silent screen. Video mode translates the sound coming out of your computer — not what you say into your microphone.
- The first seconds of a session are no longer blank: you can see it connecting, and it tells you the first translation arrives a few seconds after someone starts speaking.
- Release notes now cover the versions you skipped, so a background update that jumps several versions no longer hides what changed in between.
