Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, at least 4 GB of RAM and an internet connection. Translation runs in the cloud; speech detection runs on your device. On Linux, a 64-bit desktop with snapd and PipeWire is enough. There is no macOS app.

One can stay silent while another works; if the meter doesn't move while sound is playing, the problem is capture, not translation.

Headphones are a must in Meeting and with an Input device source, so the translated voice never leaks back into the microphone or the input. In Video, the setting that matters is ducking: the Original audio (while speaking) slider sets how far the source drops while a sentence is spoken. 30% by default; 0 mutes it, 100 leaves it untouched. Ducking lowers the whole app, so its music drops too.

• The Profile (Settings › Translation) sets ducking too.
• Speakers cause echo in Meeting.

Meeting mode sends your translated voice back into the call, and that needs a free virtual microphone called VB-CABLE. Without it, Meeting won't start. Download it from vb-audio.com, install it, restart Voxis: it detects the virtual microphone on its own. CABLE doesn't show up in Voxis's device lists, and that's normal.

One rule: in the meeting app, Microphone = CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable), Speaker = your headphones. Never set the speaker to the cable. Pick devices by name; Teams has no “Same as system” option, so there you always pick by hand. Install the cable before you open the meeting app, and restart the browser.

Make a 30-second call with someone you know; the language pair doesn't matter. They should hear the translation, not your voice. If the translation is in your headphones but not on their side, the problem is the meeting app's microphone setting. Afterwards, set the meeting app's microphone back to your real one.

If nothing arrives, Voxis writes the reason into the stream. Talking into the microphone in Video mode: “No system audio yet”. Sound but no speech: “no speech has been detected”. Cable busy in Meeting: the “Voxis can't hear this call” card. Don't restart the session; read the card, fix it, then “I fixed it — check again”.

• A “Listen to this device” stream is invisible to System audio → use Input device.
• Antivirus or a VPN can cut the long-lived connection.
• Send the report right after the failed attempt.
