Capture is driverless here too: VoxisLive creates its own PipeWire sink and routes the app you are translating into it, so there is no virtual cable and no reboot.

System requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
  • Or a 64-bit Linux desktop (amd64) with snapd and PipeWire — Ubuntu 22.04 or newer works out of the box, other distributions after installing snapd; PulseAudio systems work through the pulse bridge
  • 4 GB RAM minimum
  • An active internet connection (translation runs in the cloud; speech detection runs on-device)
  • No special audio hardware, no virtual audio drivers, no reboot

First-run in under a minute

  1. Install from the Microsoft Store and open VoxisLive.
  2. Pick a scenario — Video & Game, or Meeting for a two-way call.
  3. Choose the language you want to hear — and in Meeting, the one the other side hears (79 languages, swappable mid-session).
  4. Press Start. Your 15 free minutes of the real voice — a one-time gift — start whenever you do, and when they run out VoxisLive keeps speaking: 10 free minutes every day in the Windows app and the Linux snap, forever (in Video and Game mode).

Common questions

01Which version should I pick?
Most people want the Microsoft Store app: automatic updates, prepaid minutes, no key setup. On Linux, install the snap instead — the same app at the same version. Use the Chrome extension if you only translate browser tabs. The GitHub repository publishes a source-available excerpt of the engine if you want to see how the audio pipeline works.
02Does installation change my audio setup?
No. VoxisLive installs as a standard application, captures audio through the native WASAPI API, adds no audio device to your system, and uninstalls completely.
03Is there a Linux or macOS version?

Linux, yes — macOS, not yet. VoxisLive is on the Snap Store: run sudo snap install voxis and you get the current published build. Capture is driverless there too — VoxisLive creates its own PipeWire sink and routes the app you are translating into it — and Meeting mode adds a virtual microphone your conferencing app can select. If an older install reports the audio-record permission missing, run sudo snap connect voxis:audio-record once and press Start again.

On a Mac, the Chrome extension works today: it translates any browser tab’s audio on the same prepaid minutes — add it to Chrome. A native macOS app is on the roadmap; press the button so we can count you in, and the changelog will announce it.
