1. Who we are
Voxis ("we", "us") provides a real-time voice-translation desktop application and the website at voxislive.com, operated by Davut Akça, an independent developer based in Türkiye. For privacy questions, contact us at our contact page or [email protected].
2. Data we collect
- Account data — your email, display name, and a hashed password, stored in our PocketBase database to create and authenticate your account.
- Billing data — a Stripe customer identifier and subscription/payment status. Card details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout and are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Usage data — translated-minute counts and session metadata (start/stop, duration) used to enforce your plan quota.
- Device data (free tier) — a one-way hash derived from a hardware identifier, used only to prevent free-tier abuse. We do not store the raw identifier.
- Audio — when you run a translation, your captured audio is streamed to Google Gemini Live for translation (see §4). We do not retain your audio on our servers.
- Local storage — your browser stores a session token (JWT) and your language preference; the desktop app stores your settings and, in BYOK mode, your encrypted API key, on your own device.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the translation service and your account.
- To process subscriptions, top-ups, and billing through Stripe.
- To measure and enforce plan quotas (minutes).
- To prevent abuse of the free tier.
- To send transactional email (verification, password reset, receipts) via Resend.
4. Third-party processors
We share the minimum data necessary with these providers:
- Google (Gemini Live API) — receives your captured audio to perform the translation and returns translated audio. Subject to Google's privacy and API terms.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Resend — delivery of transactional email.
- Our hosting (PocketBase on our server) — stores account, license, and usage records.
5. Retention & account deletion
We keep account and usage data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via our contact page; we will delete or anonymize it within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal or accounting reasons.
6. Cookies & local storage
The website does not use advertising cookies. It uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in (session token) and to remember your language choice.
7. Security
Passwords are stored hashed. BYOK API keys are encrypted on your own device (Fernet, bound to your machine and account) and are never transmitted to us. Traffic is served over HTTPS.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or Türkiye's KVKK), you have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK); in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); or your relevant EU supervisory authority.
9. Children
Voxis is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
