How minutes are counted

Minutes are counted while a translation session is live — from the moment you press Start until you stop it, or until the session ends on its own because the audio capture drops or your balance runs out. A quiet room still counts: on paid plans the captured audio streams continuously to the translation model, so pauses in the conversation are billed like any other part of the session. Meeting mode is not part of the daily free minutes — apart from the one-time 15-minute Pro taste, which includes it, every meeting minute is a paid minute. Meeting is counted at the same rate as Video & Game mode: there is no multiplier for the mode or for the number of languages.

01Is there a subscription?
Yes, optional ones. Three monthly plans add minutes to your account every month: Plus 180 minutes for $9.99, Premium 480 for $24.99 and Ultra 1,000 for $49.99 — or yearly for $99, $269 and $539. Unused plan minutes roll over up to two months’ worth, and you can cancel anytime. You don’t need a plan — one-time minute packs work exactly as before: the minutes are added to your account instantly, there is no recurring charge, and pack minutes never expire while your account is active.
02What do the packs cost?

04Do unused minutes expire?
Pack minutes don’t: they stack on top of any balance and never expire while your account is active. On a plan, unused plan minutes roll over to the next month; your plan balance holds up to two months’ worth (360 minutes on Plus, 960 on Premium, 2,000 on Ultra), and plan minutes above that expire at renewal.
05How does roll-over work on a plan?
Every renewal adds your plan’s monthly minutes on top of what you have left, up to two months’ worth. Example on Plus: use 90 in your first month and you start the second with 270. Use nothing in the second and the third month starts at 360, the cap; the 90 above it expire at renewal. Premium and Ultra work the same way, capped at 960 and 2,000. Your account page shows ahead of time how many minutes would expire.
06Can I use a plan and minute packs together?
Yes. Plan minutes are used first and pack minutes last. Pack minutes never expire, even if you end the plan.
07How do I cancel a plan, and what happens to my minutes?
Cancel anytime from the billing portal on your account page. The plan keeps running until the end of the period you paid for. When it ends, the remaining plan minutes expire and your pack minutes stay.
08Is there a first-month offer?
Yes, on Plus. Until December 31, 2026, first-time subscribers to the monthly Plus plan pay $4.99 for the first month, then $9.99 a month. The offer does not apply to yearly plans, Premium and Ultra have no introductory price, and the student and teacher discount applies to packs only.
09How do plan changes work?
An upgrade — for example from Plus to Premium — applies immediately: the prorated difference for the rest of your current billing period is charged right away, and the prorated share of the extra minutes is added at once. A downgrade takes effect at your next renewal; until then you keep your current plan and its minutes. To switch between monthly and yearly billing, cancel your plan and choose the new one when your current period ends.
10Can I get a refund?
Consumers have a 14-day withdrawal right; minutes already used are deducted pro rata from the refund. See the refund policy for details.
11Is VAT or sales tax added on top?
VAT is not. Every price on this page already includes VAT — we cover it out of the price instead of adding it at checkout, so in the EU, the UK, Turkey and most other countries your card is charged exactly the amount shown. The one exception is the US and Canada, where local sales tax is calculated from your address and shown at checkout before you pay.
12I’m buying for a company — can I get a VAT invoice?
Yes. At checkout, tick the business-purchase option and enter your company name and VAT ID; the invoice is then issued to your company. If you are an EU business, a valid VAT ID means the sale is reverse-charged and no VAT is collected from you at all. Enter it at checkout, before you pay.
13Which currency will I be charged in?
Prices on this page are shown in US dollars. Checkout is handled by Polar, our merchant of record, and depending on the country of your account the charge may be presented in your local currency. Either way, the exact amount and the currency are shown before you confirm — that is what your card is charged.
14How do I get a receipt or an invoice?
A receipt is emailed to you automatically as soon as the payment goes through. The formal invoice is issued by Polar, our merchant of record. Earlier payments and their invoices stay available in the billing portal, which you open from your account page.
15Are the free daily minutes per account or per device?
Both. The 10 free minutes a day are tied to your account and to the computer they run on, so one machine gets one daily free allowance. Purchased minutes are not limited that way — they sit in your account balance and stay there until you use them.
